The "Cães de Ninguém" ("Nobody's Dogs") project is made up of a group of people who have set up a network that rescues animals from street situations, maltreatment and slaughter kennels, in Portugal.
The association does not have a physical space, and most of the animals are placed with a host family that is part of the support network of Dogs of Nobody. Animals are rehabilitated physically and psychologically, prepared for a new life in society and, only then, formally placed for adoption, in order to find a family for life.
This project was created in 2009 with the aim of supporting the dogs of the old Lisbon Municipal Kennel. Over time, the association work has been extended and nowadays it deals with cases throughout the country. Unfortunately, despite the many requests for help and the many animals that depend on Nobody's Dogs, the project still has little support from the general public.
Tansitex wanted to take a step in promoting and publicizing this noble cause, by making a donation. This donation helped paying the veterinary bill for a stray female dog, named Cora, found with a broken leg and six puppies to care for, as well as to collaborate in the payment of the stay in a hotel of a rescued dog, Magia, while waiting for a family.
We believe that respect for animals makes us better and that the evolution of our society depends on it. You can visit the Facebook page of Dogs of Nobody and get to know their work better: https://www.facebook.com/caesdeniguem/.
As Mahatma Gandhi said, "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated."
