My experience at Transitex México has been very pleasant. The invitation to collaborate in this project came from the LATAM director. With the opening of the finance department in Mexico City I gained a lot of motivation. I joined the company in December 2016 and learned a lot from my colleagues in the Finance Department from Portugal, in order to prepare myself for this challenge.
There is still a lot to do, but I foresee a big growth of the company in Mexico. These six months in the group have been a period of challenges, of professional and personal growth, and I am now learning the art of negotiation.
With great willingness and availability to contribute to the company and its good results, my training is focused in the area of Taxes and now it is focusing at the transnational level, what I can easily apply in my day-to-day life in Transitex.
The luck of having finished in Transitex is due to ICEX (Spain Exports and Investments) and to its scholarship program. After two years of training in different areas of international trade - with a theoretical part in Madrid and another practical in a Trade Commision Office of the Spanish Embassy in the USA - I started my professional career in this sector in the branch of Transitex in Johannesburg (South Africa).
From the beginning I tried to get involved in the operations as well as to develop the business of the company in the country and its relations with other companies from overseas. Thanks to the constant support of my colleagues from all Transitex branches around the world, I have been able to learn a lot from this sector and therefore grow professionally.
Transitex has given me the opportunity to be part of the incredible development of the company, growing together, allowing me now to be in charge of the Johannesburg office, immersed in a project with great potential and from which I hope to see the outcome!
In 2012, through a recruitment within the Group, I have accepted the challenge of joining Transitex - a company that organizes air, land and sea transportation for clients in and outside the group.

International Sales Manager
My journey in the company started in 2001 with only 19 years. With no experience what so ever, my first steps in Shipping and in a sales department had the maximum support od the person who is today my superior and Manager of the Company.
As the company was growing new doors started to open and with much commitment and dedication I was happy to see my work recognized year after year.
In 2013 I was assigned the current position of Commercial Director in the International area (Lisbon) which now includes 13 people and 5 offices in Spain with 25 workers.
I've started at Transitex Operational Department, which gave me the necessary confidence to engage conversations with clients, allowed me to get to know the documentations involved and taught me to understand quotations.
At the moment, even though I still am an Operational, I'm fascinated by the sales department - learn to recognize the clients need and know how to meet them, solve bureaucratic issues, preform market research, find the best quotations, raise new contracts and consequently, generate more profit to the Company.
My goal is to continue with this project. Hopefully create a sustainable basis which will allow me to be responsible for an office abroad.
Through my entire life I've been seeking on how I could increase my Learning Curve. I attended The University of Buckingham, where I found a multi-cultured University with a unique method of teaching. After completing my studies I searched for Trainee Programs online and found that Mota-Engil had opened the recruiting process for recent graduates - Mota-Engil Start@ME Trainee Program. The right moment came along. I thought to myself, "great opportunity!".
Currently I have been positioned at Transitex, working directly with the Financial Manger of Transitex. I have been learning new understandings day in day out. It has been a unique opportunity to learn and develop among the best employees in Portugal.
